I picked up this record in a Camden charity shop in 2008. The fact it's on the infamous SRT Label makes it interesting, and is probably why a Japanese collector saw fit to pay me £10.50 for it. It's a bit MOR for my liking, but I only know of one other copy in the world. The internet hasn't thrown anything up, so again, if anyone knows anything about this record, or if you were in the band, please get in touch.
The composer appears to be A. James
Side One:
Call Me A Dreamer
Side Two:
All Day in Love
I cleaned it up a bit using Audacity. Have a listen and please feel free to comment.
Neither MORdant or MORose, rather a MORass of
ReplyDeletemediocrity. MORibund it maybe but it has a very slight charm. No MORe (I'll stop doing that now)than to be expected of a lot of this type of independently released stuff but I applaud you for buying it and putting it up for all to hear, and also making a profit. You are a true scavenger.
Band bloke was an Anthony James, but I know no more. Good, eh?
ReplyDeleteI know of more copies - my dad has a garage full of them. His band tried to break into the charts and failed big time. interesting that you found a copy in Camden, they only circulated the records in Northampton!
ReplyDeleteDoes he have any he wishes to sell? I'll be in Northampton on the 18th June
ReplyDeleteyep he is happy to sell, he is around on the 18th, how can he contact you for arrangements?
ReplyDeleteDrop me an email on brad@monkish.co.uk and we can make arrangements
ReplyDeleteBradders unfortunately I was a member of this band and my wife was the lead singer, my brother in law on bass and two friends on drums and keyboard. Sounds very amateurish and dated now.
ReplyDeleteWell here we are in 2016 & I just found a copy. Sleeve autographed by Clive & Christine. A copy just sold on eBay for £25.
ReplyDeleteHi, I used to play keys in this band!! Would love to hear a sound clip of Call me a Dreamer/All Day in Love as we used to play it at assorted working mens clubs across Northampton :)
